Alas, the beautiful Elizabeth left us today,
March 23, 2011, of heart failure at the age of 79.

Elizabeth Taylor is far more famous for her
presence, both onscreen and off than for her acting talent, which sometimes is there and sometimes not.
There is no diminishing her zest for life and the countless items of juicy tidbits of gossip she has provided
us over the decades. While certainly not a great actress, she does provide entertainment whenever she
is onscreen, no matter what part she is playing. One might argue that her best portrayals were in
"Virginia Woolf" and "Butterfield 8." I found her performance overblown and not particularly believable
in both of those, although, once again, whenever she is on, she is eminently watchable. I feel her best
role was as Maggie in "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof." I found her frustrated wife very believable.
All in all anyone who states that the late Michael Jackson is the most normal person she knows, is worth
keeping track of. Her parties must be fantastic.
