Emma Thompson is always wonderful, but I think
she really shone as the middle-aged, big, gawky, awkward woman in "Last Chance Harvey" with Dustin
Hoffman. This movie itself and both leading actors were sadly underrated in this film about love coming
around again- and fast. Emma Thompson also co-stole the show in "Remains of the Day" along with Anthony
Hopkins. One has to be an extremely fine actor to even share the stage equally with Mr. Hopkins and
Emma did it with great sensitivity. "Remains of the Day" interestingly was written by Kazuo Ishiguru,
not Jane Austen or E. M. Forster, whose films Emma Thompson has always stood out in and "Remains of the Day"
interestingly is reminscent of Austen's and Forster's work.
