        Ya, Tom Hanks is so great!  He's been in one notable movie, that's only notorious for being highly overrated.  Meanwhile De Niro was in The Godfather Part 2, Mean Streets, Taxi Driver, Raging Bull.  Goodness no!  It's all about Tom Hanks and his sub par acting and movie roles.  These people who think Tom Hanks belongs on a top 100 list of acting at all are idiots.  All I've seen is how moral his c haracters are, or the gross of his movies.  He's a terrible actor.

        I love Robert De Niro as much as the next person because of the roles he plays, but Tom Hanks is a whole lot better at acting than robert de niro because most of his films has a higher gross and a better character with more moral values like Forrest Gump, or Saving Private Ryan, and even the Davinci Code and its sequal.  Hanks has won more oscars than De Niro. But they are both great actors.

        I think Tom Hanks should be  #1 bcause he is payed more  than Robert De'niro and he has won more oscars than him with more nominations. So this is Jack! who put him as #1?

        I love Robert DeNiro as much as the next guy, but why is he number one? Tom Hanks should definitely be number one. Tom Hanks was in one of the greatest movies ever made (Forrest Gump). A lot of his movies are in some of the top 100 lists. I know Robert DeNiro's are too, but I doubt he would be there in all of those movies if it wasn't for the second greatest actor, Al Pacino.

       Tom hanks is the best.... Do not compare will smith with tom hanks. if will smith works in the industry for another 100 yrs, probably he can act 10% of tom hanks.

       Tom Hanks definitely deserves top #1 if not top#2. Forrest Gump and Philadelphia for which he won oscar undoubtedly proves his excellent acting skills in two different roles. If you need to explore this actor more watch Turner and Hooch, Bachelor party, The Terminal, Catch Me If You Can, Saving Private Ryan, The Green Mile, Apollo 13, Toy Story, Cast Away, Sleepless in Seattle, You've Got Mail, Charlie Wilson's War, Big, and Road to Perdition. He has done justice to his character in all tha above mentioned movies.

       Well, when it comes to box office you guys can check Wikipedia and IMDb to clear the facts.

  I think Tom Hanks really deserves this spot. He is without a doubt one of the best actors and has been the main character in some of the best movies. ex: The green mile,Castaway,Forrest Gump,Catch me if you can.....the list goes on.

  a man who started out successfully in comedy and proved without question he could perform in any role. devoloping a good relationship with spielburg he attained wonderful roles in which he did not dissapoint, definitly a great of all time.

  You people who think this spot does not deserve to go to Tom Hanks need to f***ing see his movies BEFORE they judge them! I was jumping up and down when I saw he made #2. He blows the audience away whith his flawless accents, facial expressions, and all out brillaince. He mad history with movies such as: Appalo 13, Pixars 1st movie Toy Story. Saving Private Ryan, The Terminal, etc, etc. He is truly gifted. Furthermore you people who brought up price tags to the matter, it is also true that Tom Hanks is one of the most internationaly Amarican actors ever. Congratulations Mr. Hank, you deserve it.

  Will Smith deserves this spot easily he has grossed more money per film than any actress or actor in history. and, unlike tom hanks he does not have any bad movies. tom hanks has some good and some terrible. iit costs more money to hire will to do a part in a movie than it does tom.

  He is the one of the greatest actos ever in hollywood with his mindblowing performances he just can do any type of role weather an adventure movie or a drama he performs to the best .

  The best part of his action is undoubtedly his facial expressions.
