John Elway

Probably the best thing that ever happened to
the Broncos, John Elway was an athlete and a leader. He was a star player and a leader for Stanford
before being drafted as a #1 by the Baltimore Colts. He was sibnce traded to the Broncos and in 1987 ,
he became known as a clutch player when he constructed a 98 yard drive against the Cleveland Browns allowing
the Broncos to become the AFC champions. John Elway and his Broncos would go on to a record 5
superbowls, of which they won two. After the second superbowl victory John Elway retired a
winner. He was deservedly elected into the Football Hall of Fame in 2004. The Broncos haven't
been the same since.
