@Hammytl. What a load of nonense. F1 is one of
the hardest sports in the world. Watch Richard Hammond drive an F1 car for Top Gear and then you'll see how
tough it is.

He's a fantastic formula one racer, but
driver's are not athletes!!! Real sports don't involve machines doing all work involved. Take a look at the
classical definition of work.
If the extent of his work involved is pushing a
pedal and turning a wheel left, than how can anyone argue driver's athletic prowless. Fortunately for Lance
Armstrong and other bikers like him, he actually does most of the work. Unlike gas pedals, pushing bike
pedals doesn't have a limit of speed or force. This and having to endure the forces of the road on your legs,
lungs, and body makes the main difference between why these bikers are athletes and driver's are not. And
I've heard the wear on the body arguement, too. Sure, they have tremendous forces put on their body from the
speed, G-forces, and long mileage, but so do astronaut and fighter pilots. Why don't we put Buzz Aldrin on
here, huh. Please!
