Ray
Bradbury is, of course, an imaginative writer of fantasy? Science Fiction? Fiction? Horror? How
about an imaginative creator of stories that have been translated into stage plays and movies. My guess
is that Mr. Bradbury has always been a voracious reader because you find so many literary references in his
stories. It is not common knowledge that Ray Bradbury wrote the magnicifent screenplay for Herman
Melville's Moby Dick, directed by John Huston and starring Gregory Peck. The Illustrated Man and
Something Wicked This Way Comes are both Bradbury's stories for which he also wrote the screenplays. I
have seen many of his plays as well, including The World of Ray Bradbury, that terrific Irish play The Anthem
Sprinters, and The Wonderful Ice Cream Suit and I am very glad I did. This is a creative and prolific
writer.
