Review of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carrolll

Alice in
Wonderland was probably not written as a children's book, but as a comment on the political state of Great Britain
in the mid 19th century. However, with it's imaginative characters and situations, it became much beloved by
children as well as politically sensitive adults. The scenes and characters are perfect for kids: The
glorious Cheshire Cat with his purring guile, Tweedle Dee Dee and Tweedle Dum Dum with their roly poly figures, the
Walrus, the Mad Hatter and his Tea Party, what kid wouldn't revel in such imaginative stuff? The words are
the stuff kid's dreams are made of as well. How about "Twas brillig and the slimy todes (sic) did gyre and
gimbel in the waves"? Makes sense to me still.
