The Harry Potter Books by J.K. Rowling

       These are great books.  The later volumes are probably not intended for children.  I think the author actually taylored the later books to be for a bit of an older audience as her readers grew up while the books came out.  Start your kids off with Philosophers Stone and give them a new one each year.  When they get to Deathly Hollows, they will be ready for it.
