Theodore Roosevelt

       Teddy Roosevelt was so much more than a man on a horse and the reason for teddy bears.  He is responsible for America's bountiful National Park System so we can enjoy our country's national resources, hopefully for all time.  Theodore Roosevelt was our first environmentalist.  He so enjoyed the great outdoors that he fought to preserve it, bless his heart.  He was also instrumental in the building of the Panama Canal, a monumental engineering feat that most had given up on, having numerous attempts head into  failure along with the loss of many lives.  And, hey, it's not a bad thing to have a stuffed bear immortalizing you.
