William Shakespeare

William
Shakespeare did more for the English language than any wordsmith before him. His way with words remains
phenomenal to this day. Reading his plays or enjoying them performed on stage is as good today as was in his
time, the late 16th Century. His plays are fine a training ground for any actor who is serious about
furthering their craft. To make Shakespeares words as beautiful as they are on paper and to project them in a
meaningful way to the audience so they are aware of what is really going on in the scene is not an easy
task. The best Shakespearean actors then and now understand the nuances of meaning behind the words and
convey them to the audience. It is much easier to understand William Shakespeare' s words and characters when
you read the plays. That was probably not true in Shakespeares time, but it is today. Perhaps because
so few actors actually understand his words in depth and know how to convey them to the audience.
