Mel Brooks

Mel Brooks is
the greatest director of spoofs that ever came to Hollywood. No matter how many times I see "Young
Frankenstein" it remains hilarious. Two brief moments in the film always have me rolling on the floor.
The first one is in the scene where Igor and the good doctor are trying to get behind a secret door whence cometh
the line "Put the Candle Back" as Igor is simply dumbfounded about the door. Then there is the love scene between
Frankenstein and Madeline Kahn where their love is consummated and the tune "Sweet Mystery of Life, at last I've
Found You" is loudly played. Great stuff. Other fine and hilarious films by Mel Brooks that I
still enjoy and get a huge laugh out of are "The Producers," "Blazing Saddles," "History of the World, Part
I, " and "Men in Tights." Rock on, Mel.
