Michael Bay

I'll make
this brief because it's really not worth my time. Michael Bay is not a good director at all. Pearl
Harbor is way below average. The first Transformers film was alright, but the latter two were just
awful. One critic referred to him as Hollywood's anser to the anti-christ. Well, that's pretty
accurate.

Michael Bay
is best known as a director of high action films. He directed such action/thriller films as "The
Rock," "Armageddon," "Pearl Harbor," "Bad Boys" and the "Transformers" seriies. Michael Bay is heavily
into special effects as well and co-owns the special effects studio Digital Domain. He also co-owns the
production studio Platinum Dunes which gave us such movies as "Friday the 13th," "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre," and
"A Nightmare on Elm Street." Not surprisingly, Michael Bay teamed up with those masters of the popular action
film, producers Jerry Bruckheimer and Don Simpson. Bay and Bruckheimer's film "Bad Boys." starring Will Smith
and Martin Lawrence was such a huge commercial success, it created a bond between the two filmmakers that
turned into a lifelong friendship. Michael Bay may not be the artistic genius like a Fritz Lang or Frederico
Fellini, but he knows what makes a film a commercial success and directs that type of film better than
anyone.
