Ridley Scott

I would put
Ridley Scott on this list even if all he did in his career was to direct "Thelma and Louise." This film took
courage to make. Women aren't supposed to behave that way with no remorse. He brought out every thing
in this film that made it real. It struck a chord in every thinking person that saw it. That chord was
for fairness when there is so little. It also introduced us to that fine looking specimen, Brad Pitt .
Ridley's direction was sure and straightforward in this film. That is not to say that "Thelma and Louise" is
his only great directorial effort. Add to that "Gladiator," "American Gangster," "Black Hawk Down," "Alten"
and believe it or not that thrilling commercial of 1984 for the Apple MacIntosh with it's Big Brother theme.
"Thelma and Louise" and "Alien" also reveal his talent for directing women in film. He doesn't shy away from
their strength.
