The Coen Brothers

The first
thing that comes to mind when thinking about any of the Coen brothers' films is how very different they are from
others. Beginning with Raising Arizona and the very original plot line and characters to their latest, True
Grit, their unusual look at things is evident - and True Grit was a remake! Many of their films
either star or include the incomparable Frances McDormand, who would get the part even if she were not Joel Coen's
wife. She belongs in their films with her talent and quirkiness. Ms. McDormand could probably play any
role better than any one regardless of the movie or the director. You can always count on something different
from the Coen brothers. I will never forget the primordial screams of Raising Arizona and have found
personally that screaming can be very useful in dire circumstances.
