       This movie was eminently deservable of the Academy Awards it received, particularly in the area of Best Picture.  It was one of the most well-crafted movies made at any time.  It featired a beautifully directed cast, terrific production values, a clean story line and best of all, action and entertainment.  Kudos to Mel Gibson for making this dam near perfect movie.

       All of the actions taken in this movie can actually be attributed to Robert the Bruce. if you can get past the trite love story and "historical" garbage in this film you will still find it wanting. See "Spartacus" it's better.
