The
movie that came from an attraction at a theme park and made it's way to video games and other media, stars Johnny
Depp in one of most hilarious characatures every to grace a film. There were four "Pirates of the Caribbean"
movies in the franchise and all contain Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow. This was good movie sense as the
Pirate series would be nothing without him. If you have ever been to the "Pirates of the Caribbean"
attraction at Disneyland or Disney World, you get a good sense of what the films are all about. They are a
humorous take on what is not normally a funny time in history - that of the pirates that were looting and pillaging
anywhere in the world they thought held some loot, usually from sunken exploring ships with a possible cargo of
gold, silver and precious stones. These guys were actually ruthless criminals. Disney's pirates on the
other hand are mainly ghosts of former pirates who are all out to take advantage of each other, dead though they
may be. Depp's posturing and whimsy make this series of movies wonderfully fun to watch.
