The Lion King
The Lion King directed by Roger Allers and Rob Minkoff(1994)

"The Lion King" was Jeffrey Katzenberg's last masterpiece while working at Walt
Disney Studios. What a film it is! It has distinctive characters running through it from stars to
bit parts. The music is unforgettable as is the art direction. The song "The Circle of Life" best
explains the underlying theme of the movie. The old lions die off and the new ones replace them. The
music that helps makes the movie what it is is by Elson John and Tim Rice. Walt Disney Studios had the
courage to trust Julie Taymor to direct it on Broadway as a live theater production. They made the correct
courageous decision. "The Lion King" turned out to be a masterpiece on stage as well as
film.
