The Sting is
a terrific caper movie starring those two caper movie greats, Robert Redford and Paul Newman. The movie
concerns a man seeking revenge for the murder of his partner. He teams up with a consummate con man to avenge
his firend's death by winning a fortune from the crooked banker that did in his partner. The two assemble a
group of the finest con men anywhere. Together they devise an elaborate series of schemes to bilk all the bad
guys tout of their ill-gotten gains, most particularly targeting the crooked banker. Marvin Hamlisch is
responsible for the arrangement of Scott Joplin's tune "The Entertainer" that is the running theme song throughout
the picture and an integral part of the movie.
