       Dean Martin could out sing every one of his cohorts in the rat pack and most every singer in his generation and other generations as well.  We may have forgotten this because Dino always made it look so easy.  Dean Martin (once broken away from Jerry Lewis - I don't care how the French feel about Jerry Lewis, I think he's a bozo) became a star performer in his own right.  He was one of the funniest hosts ever to hit Las Vegas or Television.  And he did all this so naturally.  There is a story about one of his kids in the early sixties where the son tells him that he could never top a Beatles hit on the charts.  Dino came out with Everybody Loves Somebody Sometime, and did just that.  The song was the number one pop hit for weeks.  His smooth distinctive vocals will set a standard forever.
