       He was a great dancer. That being said, his lyrics were not poetic or deep. His songs were not even very meaningful. He also could not play an instrument. He really does not belong on the list. He was talented, but there have definately been over 100 musicians more talented.

       I think michael should be number 1 due to the fact that he pretty much created a sound that still dominates today. Lady gaga, justin timberlake, beiber, spears, usher, beyonce, everyone big these days is influenced extremely by Michael, and the fact that he changed music videos forever! So i would say it should be him, and then definately the Beatles, since they did about the same feat several decades before!RIP King of Pop, forever may you Reign.

       Michael Jackson.  He is a difficult topic.  In case i should say "he should be number one omg he iz the ferkin' king of muzuic omg jizz".  Iwill feel bad.

       If I say "He isn't all that great and could be number one, but s just fine with his number 2 spot", i will be swarmed by fans stating the above.
And i would feel bad.

       Y'know, professional dancers teach background dancers how to do their job.  Professional Dancers dance as Background dancers when Michael Jackson enters the stage.  His movements are not only his way of dancing.  There are emotions in his motions.  Whenever he moves his arm, spins around like an ice skater, or even does the moonwalk, he does it with his entire body, with his entire soul.  But, don't forget that a band called Jackson 5 may never have formed without a source of inspiration like the beatles.

       Michael, the King of Music, should be number one and Beatles should not be considered sooooo high. They're very talented and successful, yes, but Michael cannot be under them. This list is not objective at all. Even the covers he made were more beautiful and musical than the originals.

       Michael Jackson was such an incredible artist when it came to performing, song writing, singing, and dancing. His legacy is unforgetable and he did so much for the world. Especially for the children. I believe that it is only right to honr him with some of his incredible songs. These are just a few of my favorites.        Let's not be unrealistic here. Michael Jackson was a genius and now he's dead, but that DOES NOT make him one of the top ten musicians of all time out of all genres. What Miles Davis did to and for jazz is far more impressive. How Beethoven spurred and defined the romantic movement and overcame the musical handicap of DEAFNESS is far more impressive. B.B. King is still a strong blues presence and has been for fifty years. Bob Dylan defined folk music and an era of American youth culture, and then caused outrage by "going electric". Jimi Hendrix invented a guitar genre. Frank Zappa spent his life pushing the musical envelope. What Michael Jackson did for pop is exactly what the Beegees did for disco (ie dominated it completely but briefly), and his death had nothing to do with his longevity as an innovator. MJ's contribution to music innovation stopped long before his death, which makes his contribution less impressive when you think about how many people stuck around.
