       Roy Orbison has an unmistakable voice.  You always know a Roy Orbison by that distinctive vocal tone and range.  While rock and rollers of the time were emphasizing a kind of macho masculinity, Roy Orbison wasn't afraid to show vulnerability.  His early years were huge with successes of "Pretty Woman," "In Dreams," "Only the Lonely," and "Crying."  Interestingly, the latter three of those songs definitely show a soft vulnerable side.  He had a rough few years after his early success only to rise again with the band "The Traveling Wilburys with Tom Petty, George Harrison, Jeff Lynne and Bod Dylan.  I think this is some of his best work ever.
