       Tina Turner far outshone her ex-husband Ike Turner and became the woman who would forever change the one-gender make up of rock and roll singers.  Tina opened the door to female rockers way back in the 1950's as a guest (with Ike) on TV's Johnny Otis Show.  Ike and Tina sang along with some gospel greats like The Three Tons of Joy on that show bringing it and them a lot of deserved attention.  Tina Turner is not only blessed with a great voice and stunning looks, but the stamina required of her performances in which to endure until the wee small hours of the morning, when they finally (and woefully) draw to a close.  You will always get your money's worth at a Tina Turner concert.   As one critic said: Tina Turner taught women everywhere how to walk in high heels, referring to her video for "What's Love Got to do With It?".
