As all Hemingway books it is really static and seems to
never get moving. At around page 300 out of 500 the book
just starts moving with a constant growing climax till
the end. Till page 499 I probably would have said: what a
boring book. Once you read the last page, close the book
and put it down you actually think: "what a f*cking
amazing book" and you realize you've just read a
masterpiece which is beauty consists of the whole book,
and not only single episodes. READ IT!

This was a great read. The plot was engaging and
suspenseful. The charactes were complex and easy to
relate to. The book presented interesting insights into
Spanish culture, humanity in general, and life itself.
Not only that, it is a great historical war novel and in
my opinion the author's best work.
