Review of It by Stephen King

       The novel "It" is quite possibly the most disturbing novel I have ever read.  When I finished the paperback version I bought it was impossible for me to even look at the cover.  I tucked it into a sock drawer and tried to forget about it.  I was not successful.  It is rather long-winded and meticulous but the final result is worth the hours you will put into reading it.  I find it to be the scariest of his novels and somewhat a tribute to H.P. Lovecraft, one of King's most noted influences.  "Scary" is not the right word.  "Horrifying", as cliche as the term has become, is really the only way to describe the novel.  The horror of children facing true evil.  Read this novel and forget the film completely...
