I cried like a baby at the end. a true
tragedy. Romeo and Juliet eat your heart out cause this one's got you beat.

This was an excellent novel that had such a
tragic ending to it. It made me relize how much prejudice there was to the mentally ill by means of isolation
and impatience portrayed by curly and his wife. This should have also won a noble prise aswell but the grapes
or wrath is another story itself. 9/10 .

While this novel starts slow, as many of
Steinbeck's works do, the ending is simply brilliant. It's a true statement about good and evil in the world,
and Steinbeck's portrayal of the controversial character Lennie had me in tears by the end. I read this novel
when I was in middle school, and have always admired it. A must read for all.

Steinbeck's use of symbolism and alleghory
makes this short read a peice of classic literature. Brought me to tears.

...the story of life and true decency...a real
heart-wrencher, my tears spilled. The story was so deep, showing the real nature of life and men and
the lives of men, even through its simplicity, an eye-opener.
For those that want more out of a book, a must read.

I remember reading this in high school
and I still remember it pretty well. This is a sad story that really takes you on a journey in such a
short amount of time. For such a short novel it deals with so much. The character of Lenny is one
of the best written characters. How Lenny meets his end is sad and you really wish it didn't happen
that way. Now that I think of the story I just hope things don't get as bad through the country as it
was in the depression. This and appointment in sammarra are the best books I've read about the Depression.
The two characters have such a simple dream that it's sad they don't realize it. Overall this book is
outstanding and i honestly wished it was a little longer. My favorite part is when the overseer of the land
they were on said he wore a glove on his hand to keep it warm for his woman. That was funny and that's why I
wear one glove on my right hand. I would give this book an 8.5 out of 10
