The Hobbit

Review of The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien

After reading this book at least five times in the past 6
years I can honestly say it is one of the best novels of all time. I found a hard time putting it down and while
it's not the longest read it certainly deserves to be on this top 100 list. It is a amazing adventure story and
is ultimately a tale about Bilbo Baggins and his encounters along his unexpected jorney. Uses great language not
at all difficult to understand and shows the theme of good triumphing over the forces of
evil.

I thought the hobbit was a very good book and a very
important prelude to the lord of the rings. Menaing that without this novel, you will not understand the first
few chapters of the lord of the rings. this book will make you want to read LOTR. The Hobbit is the story of
poor old Bilbo baggins who just wants to be left alone but gets dragged onto one of the greatest adventures in
Middle earth. Very good read. Won't take long to get through. When it's over you'll wish there was more to the
story. Adn for those people that think that you're in luck! because there is an extension called Lord of the
rings. READ IT.

The first time I saw this book, I ad already played the
video game and had no idea what the lord of the rings series was. Actually I thought, "Strange to base a book on
a video game." But I soon learned it was vice versa and also it became my all time favorite book still today. It
absolutely never gets old, in fact, I still have trouble putting it down. It is a courageous tale of an
unsuspecting and unsuspected hero to rise up and prove that anyone has capability for great things. On the other
side it is a truly inspiring book of compassion, kindness, and good-will. I recommend the hobbit to anyone (LotR
fan or not) with a garuntee that you will not waste your time. I am not in a position to say that it should be
in the top ten, because I don't read often, but I am very, very happy that it is on the
list.

Loved this book. Its was very fun to read. It was all the
adventure of the Lord of the rings rolled into one much shorter book.

If you liked The Lord of the Rings and couldn’t get
enough then the next obvious step is The Hobbit by J.R.R.
Tolkien. The Hobbit takes place about 60
years before the beginning of LOTR.
It chronicles the stories of our old friend Bilbo Baggins. The familiar wizard Gandalf,
Elrond the elf and other are also in the book.
The
Hobbit is written in a lighter tone but still fits in with the
other stories of Middle Earth.
There are some differences, in both style and content, between The Lord of the
Rings and The Hobbit but any Lord of the Rings fan will surely enjoy The Hobbit as
well.
