Review of The Twilight Saga by Stephenie Meyer

Why on earth is stupid @&$# on this list?!
On the same list as some of the best literature ever written?! Who the hell made this list.

How on earth did this book get on to the top
100 novels list, i would like to know.
The Twilight Saga by Stephenie

It slightly disgusts me that this series of
books is on this list next to masterpieces such as To Kill A Mockingbird and Brave New World. Stephanie Meyer
is an amatuer writer with no skill in any literary elements that require talent. Just because she provides a
slightly interesting plot idea and an easy read DOES NOT make her work worth mentioning in a list of such
reknowned authers. She should not be famous, but infamous for dumbing down young people's idea of what makes
a good novel. Twilight is a preteen mild romance meant for children who are unable to comprehend the talent
behind true works of art such as that of Margerat Mitchell or Charles Dickens.
The Twilight Saga by Stephenie

The only good thing about this series is that a
couple of the books briefly mention: (1) Jane Austen's work, and (2) Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte. I can
only hope that some of the young girls who read this trash notice the mention of those novels and have the
curiosity to read them. Other than that, this series is a waste of time. I can't believe it made
it on this list while many novels of much more depth, importance, and literary value are missing. It's
sad.

I'm so shocked at the negative reviews on this
board. I've read the Twilight Saga and although it doesn't come close to some of my favourite books it is not
entirely without merit. This book is, in part, responsible for getting teenagers reading again in this time
of computer games and reality TV. A friend's daughter read the Twilight Saga and enjoyed it so much she went
on to read some fantastic books.
Nice and entertaining in my opinion but if you
are looking for something life-changing, look elsewhere.

read half of the first.

It's the best vampire novel written, after
Bram's and Anne Rice's. Those who feel the books are dumb must be dumb themselves, since they lack some
story-sense. I think its a perfect blend of romance, action, humour etc. woven perfectly into the thread of
fiction.
The Twilight Saga by Stephenie

It's easy to separate the dumb from the rest of
us. All those who read and enjoy Twilight are the dumb and there's no need for an IQ test to know.

Interesting how all the people who have nothing
but rave reviews to say for Twilight all have the incapability of spelling. Coincedence, i think
not. if you want to read a decent book about vampires, its blatantly got to be Dracula. If you
want to read a book where someone has looked in a thesaurus to get everyone word that has the meaning of
beauty and use it in one sentence, then this is the book for you.
The Twilight Saga by Stephenie

This book should not even have been considered
to stand by the other books on this list. The writing is awful.
The Twilight Saga by Stephenie

Those who say that this book is good should not
have the guts to speak or write at all because they don't know nothing about LITERATURE. Clearly, their
emotion outweighs their reason.
Stephanie Mayer is an embarassment to the
literary world and a champion in the arena of impulse driven media.
I bet they haven't read the classics and the
twilight book might be their first book they have read after so many years tuning into the Hannah Montana
show.
And when I say classics, they are books that
have been tested through time by different cultures, ages and other social groups you can think
of.
Kids, please leave the literary criticism to
the experts. Don't embarass yourselves with your innocence and naive thinking.

I'm shocked of how high this book got. Twilight
is probably made it on this list because stupid teenage girls who are die-hard fans of literary bullshit
spam-vote this book. There is absolutely NO character development, there are no themes at all, and the plot
is BORING. For those who have not read the book, save your time and spend $20 on a book higher up on the list
(like top 30 or 20).
The Twilight Saga by Stephenie

I read a comment just then saying it was
underrated and that it should be in the top ten! Absurd to even consider having this book in the top
500! It was certainly an entertaining story but it was not worthy of any literary praise. It was simply
enjoyable trash.
The Twilight Saga by Stephenie

There was many honourable mentions on this
list......but, the twilight saga. I think Stephen King sumed up the exstent of her writing ability. I suppose
that the vast majority of her fan base voted her into this very poll....that is, all the adolescent fourteen
- year old girls. Meyers is no Ayn Rand or Shirley Jackson....Meyers should of read their works instead of
taking her writing instruction from the Sweet Valley High novels.

The Twilight Saga: This novel should not appear
on the list, how can you compare Stephenie Meyer with Charles Dickens or Bram Stocker??
UNBELIVABLE!
The Twilight Saga by Stephenie

The Twilight Saga is an enjoyable read, and
very exciting, for the most part. Some of the characters are flat, and need to be recongnized for the great
contribution to the series that they would be if expanded on.
I believe the books would have been better if
written by a different person. Mrs. Meyer has only a small talent for writing, and was lucky to have this
dream. There is little depth to the story, and the third book (Eclipse) felt like a boring filler to me. I
like the movies, however, equally as much as the book, because Summit Entertaiment interprets the characters
well. They do a fantastic job with Carlisle Cullen ( Peter Facinelli), Billy Black, ( Gil Birmingham)
the Volturi (etc.), and Reneesme Cullen (Mackenzie Foy, who will appear in Breaking Dawn). Jacob Black
(Taylor Lautner) and Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) need work.
The romance of Edward Cullen and Bella
Swan is not very present. Bella is a boring, pessimistic "heroine" (like Vanity Fair, I believe this book has
no hero or heroine), that is very hard to watch and read about. I think Mrs. Meyer could have done a better
job with a character with more feeling.
Otherwise, this is a good book that has teens
getting up off the computer, throwing down the remote, and picking up a book of one of the most epic teenage
romance books of all time.
Emphasis on teenage.

I'll admit, these books were higly entertaining
but I think it's a stretch to include them in the list of 100 greatest novels of all time...The writing is
straightforward and very simple. The characters are flat and while this allows them to be extremely
relatable, it also prevents them from developing fully. Overall, these novels are great reads for vacation or
killing time but your time could be much better spent.

Don't judge them them based on their fad and following before you have read them.

I don't see what makes this series so great.
Stephenie Meyer doesn't let her characters grow, they're for the most part unbelievable, and it fizzled out
in the end. She's a novice writer who chose a sensational topic and got way too much hype over it.
As far as I am concerned, nothing about the
Twilight Saga screams the best 100 Novels. I just looked through the list and found a lot of books I like -
To Kill a Mockingbird, His Dark Materials, and Dune just to name a few. His Dark Materials might be a series
some of the more intellectual readers of Twilight might have come across.
Northern Lights / The Golden Compass, The
Silver Knife, and the Amber Spyglass are books with far more merit. If you read Twilight for its shoddy
attempts at romance you'll love this series. The characters are a little young so at first it's harder to get
into their heads, but once you do you find yourself cheering for their triumphs and crying at their
heartbreaks. I've never had a book make me cry as hard as the Amber Spyglass did. Twilight came nowhere even
close to pulling me in emotionally. Edward and Bella were a shallow couple in comparison to Lyra and
Will.
For those of you who noticed The Golden Compass
and are thinking "Ew, I saw that movie, it sucked!" I recommend reading these books in their entirety. The
movie came nowhere near close. Then again, I think I enjoyed reading Twilight more than watching its movie
counterpart-- and that's saying something, because you couldn't pay me to read the series
again.

I avoided these books like the plague
until my friend (who is very well read) scooped them up and started to read them. I figured that I
would give them a shot and actually discovered that I rather enjoyed them. I loved
Twilight. I did not like New Moon. Fell in love with Eclipse as there was good character
development of the supporting characters which pulled me into the novel. The final novel was kinda of a
bore and took me a year to get back into after putting it down. I did manage to finish Breaking
Dawn though and can say that the writing isn't bad it's not the greatest book I have read but I would argue
that The Grapes of Wrath was so horribly boring and it's up there with some really good books. I felt
that The books are all well written and I enjoyed the series for the most.
I was shocked to see it in the top 100 novels
next to the Great Gatsby, To Kill A Mocking Bird and the like but people would argue that The Catcher in the
Rye isn't a great novel either. I feel that every book has it's followers and it's haters. If you
enjoy a little romance, and a departure from reality then it's a good book. If you think that vampires
and warewolves are just silly fantasy then these books are probably not for you. Every book has an
audience it doesn't matter if they are children, teens or adults. Isn't the point of a book to get you
reading and loving reading? Reviews are quite personal and individual. I wouldn't be so quick to
disregard this series.

How are you going to put this book on a list
with Blood Meridian? The Bell Jar? The Stranger? Twilight is like an extended version of

WHY IS THIS BOOK ON THIS LIST? It might be
entertaining reading, but it's not even close to the top 100 novels. It's basically trashy romance novels for
teenagers.

There's a lot of lovers and haters for this
series. Personally, the first book, Twilight, was okay. The rest of the books, I thought could have been
better. But considering that "Twilight" was based purely off S.Meyer's dreams, and the rest of the series was
kinda forced, in my opinion, you can't really judge the books because dreams are pretty delusional and
unrealistic.
From the Twilight lover's point of view, the
characters would be incredibly sexy, and your heart would beat really fast at those romantic scenes with the
interactions of Bella and Edward or Bella and Jacob. It's a story about forbidden love, you can say, plus, a
happy ending, so that's a bonus.
From the hater's point of view, the whole
series is quite delusional and doesn't make any sense at all. You can see Bella as a character with no
personality, letting the reader slip into Bella's place. In a way, Bella is sort of a Mary Sue. The very fact
that everyone is perfect and in love with Bella screams that she's a Mary Sue. Also, considering that Edward
is dead..."Breaking Dawn" doesn't make any sense whatsoever.
All in all fiction will be fiction. So if you
like sappy, interspecies romances, then I won't stop you from reading this. If you're too realistic, and want
books that have more meaning, then don't bother reading it.

DON'T READ THESE. Awful writing, boring
characters, and the love story is... it's not even a love story. The whole thing is just boring. And
plus, she completely ruined vampires forever.
PS- If you do read this, I have three things to tell you. Sparkling is for Tinkerbell, not vampires. Pedophilia is
a big part in the last book. Necrophilism is a big part through the whole series.
DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME.

Seems like these books got pretty mixed
reviews. Only for Soccer moms and teenage girls w/outta control hormones? HA! I'm neither and I loved all
four. Granted I was team Jacob until book four and some of the heart stopping Edward lala was a bit much for
me but really entertaining books. Isn't that what pleasure reading is about? So many of the books on this
list are great for academic analysis and artistic purposes but in terms of entertainment and ending a long
day at work or school w/something to take you away from it, this saga is in my top ten... For those who think
these books dont belong on the top 100 we should be quantifying what type of top 100 reading were talking
about here. Deep meaning OR one of the most engrossing things youve ever gotten your hands on. In terms of
feeling riveted and not being able to put a book down this or 1984 THIS! This or Pride and Prejudice THIS!!
This or Grapes of Wrath THIS!!! In terms of art, ok not so much but drivel cmon lighten up and have some fun.
Balance, not everything has to be so serious all the time. We need books like these to wet the appetite of a
generation who are opting out of reading for TV, youtube, facebook and video games.

Ugh! I couldn't stand these books. Horribly
written, transparent characters, a storyline that bored me to tears! The only people who like these books are
teenage girls and their awful horomones and soccer moms desperately trying to find love.

I lost all respect for this list the second I
saw the Twilight Saga on it. The only good thing is that is happens to be rather low at 88. These books are
pulp fiction pieces of crap that should be regulated to the dollar-bin at stores, except the media managed to
brainwash people enough into buying them. Argue quality all you want, but there is no way Stephanie Meyer's
drivel should ever be put on the same level as works like Animal Farm or Atlas Shrugged.

These are the best books I have ever read. I
know there ia alot of books out there and there is many that are amzing but I have not found another i would
spend my time reading 24 times. I have read each book (4) 24 times.
I enjoyed the way Stephanie Myere wrote the
books, ithere not complicated yet it has great description. The way she writes is just all around
great.
I know that the caricters are quite farfetched.
I know alot of people could never wrap there minds around vampiers and wearwolfs but, there alot like any
other mistical being, dragons,faries... I enjoyed the escape the books gave me. The whole charicter base
sempt so real and relateble, ofcorse I'm not a vampier or werewolf but, it still sempt that they all had
something there to intreeg diferent people, hence the 'teams' People choose.
My personal opinion is that they are good for
all ages and genders. I think that if you like anything, forlack of a better fraise, out there they will
capture your mind. Of corse opinions vary.

I have never been so in love with a set of
books before or since. I read all four books twice in a row. The characters are so real and the love story is
so engaging. An obvious fiction but it doesn't feel like that when you read them. It's like you are in the
story watching what's happening and feeling what Bella is feeling. Definately read these books if you love a
great romance. Brings you back to your first love, with an element of danger. My favourite books. It's no
wonder they have become such a pheomenon.

WOW!!!!! I just picked up twilight, and could
stop reading till i had completed Breaking Dawn. Its an amazing combination of mythology and love. Its
impossible not fall in love with Edward, not to dream of having a vampire boyfriend. Addictive is how
i'd describe it. Must read. If u have seen the movies, they are an innjustice to the real Twilight. Adorable
series.. I wish stepehnie would have released midnight sun.. I can pay any amount to read that
