I had to read this book for an english composition class, and I have to say I initially had NO interest in reading it. At first it seemed dull and boring, but it drew me in and I couldn't stop reading it. I felt like I was living in the world of Katherine and Heathcliff. I'm trying to read The House of the Seven Gables right now and I'm just not feeling it. I LOVED Wuthering Heights. This book will permeate your mind with its dark and hauntingly beautiful love story.. and then you'll go from book to book, searching vainly for something as good.

I have to admit that i thought i was going to hate this book and it has been  the total opposite..i couldn't/wouldn't put it down. Wuthering Heights is so amazingly raw, its beautiful... it took my breath away. Its so much a part of me...like the air i breathe. Since the minute i put it down i have been making other people read it and its become a part of them as well. It truly makes me wonder where would we be without books like this.

Sure, the beginning was tedious, but experience tells me that the greatest books are often initially misundersood before suddenly blossoming into a true work of art.

Wuthering Heights represents the epitome of great literature. Amazingly, it was never boring, but not complicated. As soon as I finished, it left a lasting impression, almost to the point where I would randomly go back and read a passage because of a realization, or just the desire to relive the experience.

Emily Bronte's true genious lies in the structure and narrative. Her careful calculations ensure that the lives of Catherine and Heathcliff form the backbone of their offspring and the secondary characters. The narration of Lockwood, which frames the story allows allows us to enter the world of Wuthering Heights exactly as we are - objective, naive and completely different from the characters. If it weren't for the direct narration, I would never have truly believed the story (given the deep, unhuman love between C&H and the supernatural forces) but as a result I felt I was part of the world, if not, looking on with hardly any barrier between us.

I love discovering new things every time I reread a great novel and Wuthering Heights was no disappointment! I've read it four times now, and in less than a year! Truly deserves to be on this list. (Although it is SO better than Jane Eyre).

Powerful. Very powerful. Parts of this book suck you in and make you feel what the characters feel. You can't put the book down but must turn the page to see what will happen next as you fall deeper and deeper into the story. You feel the emotions put forth by the author through the characters, and they possess you. This book is incredible, and a must read.

Powerful, extremely powerful. Very dark, but impossible to put down. There is nothing "feel good" about it, but it is still one of my all time favorites.  It is about horrible people, but they can still connect with everyone in one way or another. It's a must read.

This is a dark novel with brooding charcters.  The hero is one that is difficult to relate to at times, but you'll still root for him.  The heroine is perfection in an odd way.  I found myself wanting to know more so the pages kept turning.  You will not be disappointed with this classic.  One of my favorites!

An ansolutely superb novel written by a genius. Extreemly well described characters living in the isolated moors of England. The atmosphere of Wuthering Heights is truly unique: you have the stunningly beautiful descriptions of the nature, the frightening and mystical house on the top of the hill, the dark and burning eyes of the cruel Heathcliff and his passionate and all destructive love with Catherine that transends even death.
Every page of the book is a pure pleasure to read. Captivating, scary and magnificent. It steals you away from this world...
       Definitely my favorite!!
