Best 100 TV Shows

Doctor Who was the longest running Sci-fi shows in history. The show first aired on November 23, 1963 (the day after JFK was killed) and continued on until the year 1989. A TV movie was made in 1996, and the series was revived in 2005.

Over the Years, 12 different actors have played the role of the Doctor, with each change being explained by "Regeneration" a process where the Doctor can survive fatal injury but his physical body changes. The following is a list of all actors to play the role in order and for how long.

William Hartnell (Season 1-4)
Patrick Troughton (Season 4-6)
Jon Pertwee (Season 7-11)
Tom Baker (Season 12-18)
Peter Davison (Season 19-21)
Colin Baker (Season 21-23)
Sylvester McCoy (Seasons 24-26)
Paul McGann (1996 TV movie)
Christopher Eccleston (Series 1)
David Tennant (Series 2-2009 specials)
Matt Smith (Series 5-Present)

In the serial The Five Doctors, Richard Hurndall portrayed the First Doctor due to Hartnell's death.

I started watching the show just a couple of years ago, and seince then i have endevoured to watch as many of the episodes as i can.  Strongly Recomended.
