Home Improvement

I was lucky enough to visit the set of "Home Improvement" in the early 1990's.
The show was warm, funny, human and entertaining. So was the set. I'm no expert in
behind-the-scenes goings on. "Home Improvement"and some kid's radio show decades ago were the only sets I
have ever visited, but I think it's rare what I saw behind the stage translate so beautifully to the finished
product. Tim Allen got his start here and a great start it was. The show was supposedly about a home
improvement television program called Tool Time starring Tim Allen as a tool man and Richard Karn as a protagonist
tool man. Things didn't always go as planned on the show as there was quite a bit of inept carpentry going
on. Tim Allen's character consistently confided in his neighbor, Wilson, whom was never seen, but made a lot
of sense. Pamela Anderson got her start here as the Tool Time Girl, which was a hilarious
schtick.
