The Andy Griffith Show

You people have got to be kidding. This cornball piece of sentimental trash
shouldn't have made it in the top million list of television shows. What's to like about it? It's got
Andy Griffith, the worst actor ever to not emote on the screen under any circumstances. It takes place in a
rural setting of America that never existed in reality and never will. The stories and characters were
contrived. Ron Howard as Opie was cute, but nothing compared to the creative director he was to become.
Maybe if they allowed Opie to direct back then, he could have gotten something out of Andy Griffith besides that
one dimension. Nah. Not even Ron Howard could do that. Maybe this is just not my kind of show and
Andy Griffith is just not my kind of actor. I give it a thumbs down in any case.
