The Big Bang Theory

       The Big Bang Theory is one of the funniest TV shows with the finest cast of characters that is available today.  The constant conflict between Penny and her geeky neighbors who live across the hall in the same apartment building in Pasadena keeps the action flowing.  The premise for the show is in itself original and promising.  It involves two uber-geeky Caltech geniuses, an assortment of socially awkward scientists and Penny.  Penny is an attractive young blonde working as a waitress while biding her time before becoming a Hollywood star, or  at least a paid actress.  All this sounds like a total cliche.  Maybe that's why it works so well and has such intelligent humor.  The writing and direction have much to do with its success as well.  It may be the most intelligent sitcom of the decade as well as the most outrageous.  Odd praise for what should be a trite old cliche.
