Two and a Half Men

Two and a Half Men star Charlie Sheen and John Cryer as the men (and brothers) and
Angus T. Jones as the half man (son of brother, John Cryer). The theme of the show involves Charlie, a
successful writer of jingles in his Malibu home and his brother John, and nephew Angus who move in with him after
John's divorce. Charlie Sheen plays Charlie Sheen, i.e. a hedonistic womanizer and a damn funny one.
Conchata Ferrell plays Charlie's maid and adds a very funny touch to the already hilarious goings on. The
show can be surprisingly raunchy for television, which is refreshing rather than off putting. There is just
enough raw humor to make the already awkward situation of this unusual family grouping even more awkward. Two
other nice touches are neighbor Rose, who has an on and off crush on Charlie and the two men's mother played with
swagger by Holland Taylor. Mom is nothing if not conceited and self-serving. Needless to say, the
moments between her, her sons and her grandson are anything but nurturing and do not give you that warm, fuzzy
family feeling. Two and Half Men may just be the edgiest show on television right now.
